SEMINAR AND WORKSHOP

Workshop on Industry-Oriented CAD Design and 3D Modeling for Mechanical Engineering

The Department of Mechanical Engineering organised a workshop on “Industry Oriented CAD Design and 3D Modelling for Mechanical Engineering” on 24th March 2026. The session was conducted for 4th-semester students to enhance their understanding of modern design and modelling practices. The workshop was led by Mr Balachandra N. Pawar, Founder and Director of Sheshnag Technologies, who shared valuable industry-driven insights.

He introduced students to the fundamentals of Computer-Aided Design and explained how 3D modelling supports product development. The session covered industry standards, design workflows, and applications of CAD in manufacturing and automotive sectors. A live demonstration showcased component creation, part assembly, and visualisation techniques using professional CAD tools.

Students also learned how real-world engineering challenges are addressed through efficient design solutions. The resource person highlighted the importance of accuracy, simulation, and design validation in modern industries. Participants engaged actively by asking questions and discussing practical design scenarios.

The workshop strengthened their understanding of core design concepts and encouraged them to adopt advanced CAD tools. It also helped students connect academic learning with hands-on industry expectations. Overall, the workshop was highly informative and provided valuable exposure to industry-oriented 3D modelling practices.
