VALUE ADDED PROGRAMS

Department of Mechanical Engineering:

Department of Mechanical Engineering offers series of value added programmes to fulfill the needs of the students. These programmes are planned for a simple reason that, students cannot learn all the software’s which are essential from their professional career in four years. They only learn a maximum of four application software’s, but from their professional career point of view they should know high end modeling, meshing, structural analysis, thermal analysis, CNC machining software’s. To fulfill such industry needs department is planned the following value added programmes.

Certificate Course on 3D Modeling & Analysis

As per the university curriculum students of mechanical engineering are studying entry level computational modeling software’s.  As per University curriculum department offers solid edge software. But this software may not fulfill the requirement of industry. The industry requirements understand the high end modeling software’s like CATIA, PRO-E, NX etc. Department invites experienced industry persons to educate the students in this area. This programme is normally offered during the second year of engineering course.

CAD/CAM Certification course

From university curriculum point of view students are learning simple case studies in the analysis software’s by using Ansys. But to know the detailed procedure of meshing and analysis, students of the department are trained in Ansys Workbench software’s.

CAM/ CNC Simulator certification course

Machining software’s are very much essential for the students who want to progress in manufacturing field of mechanical engineering. Students do learn necessary G and M codes in their theory subjects. But uses of these codes in high end machining software’s are very much essential. Department educates the students in high end machining software’s like DelCAM, Master-CAM etc.

Certification course in Management & Leadership

Students of mechanical engineering are very good managers in any given situation. To train the students to manage their own activities and supporting action of the organization the department is conducting one week management training programme.
