Shape Your Future – Career Development Programme

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, in association with the Career Development Centre, organised the “Shape Your Future – Career Development Programme” on 2nd April 2026 for 4th and 6th semester Mechanical Engineering students. The session aimed to create career awareness and guide students in making informed professional choices.

The programme featured Mr Ravichandran Durairajan, a visionary GCC leader, advisor, and digital transformation expert, as the resource person. He shared valuable insights from his professional journey and highlighted evolving career opportunities across industries.

The speaker emphasised the importance of continuous learning, adaptability, and aligning skills with industry expectations. Emerging trends in digital transformation and their impact on future careers were discussed in detail. Students were guided on effective career planning and the need to proactively develop industry-relevant competencies.

The session further highlighted the importance of communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and practical exposure. Mr Ravichandran encouraged students to actively pursue internships, certifications, and hands-on projects to enhance employability.

The programme motivated students to align academic learning with long-term career goals. Participants gained clarity on industry requirements and modern workplace expectations. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, making it highly informative, engaging, and beneficial for the students.
