Time: 2:00 PM

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, in association with the ROBOHORIZON STUDENT CLUB, has successfully conducted an event called Robo – Wars.

The event was Co-ordinated by Dr. Sudarshan T. A, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering Department.

This was an event conducted to test the student’s basic knowledge in fields which are deemed to be very important in the coming future. The students had to register themselves in teams of 2. The event had 2 rounds, where the first round was crossword called ‘What’s in a Word’ and was followed by the second round which was called ‘Robos on Board’.

 Round-1

The event was attended by a total of 110 students from all domains of engineering and wasn’t restricted to any particular year. The students had to assemble with their teammates at 1.50 p.m. in the Industry 4.0 Lab. The students were distributed in three different locations for the first round. The first round was called ‘What’s in a Word’ where the students were tested on basic terms related to a few domains such as robotics, mechanical and electronics. They had to read a few paragraphs and a few key-words had to be used to fill up a scrabble. The first five teams to finish the scrabble with the correct answers were selected.

Round-2

The second round was held with the final 5 teams where they had to battle it out to emerge victorious. The second round was the ultimate Robot Board game which had a lot of fun challenges, surprises, trivia and entertainment which constantly kept your mind busy in one way or the other. The participants then had to roll dice to decide where they would end up and that decided what task they had to successfully conduct in order to proceed with the game. The tasks included quiz, Pictionary, Trivia and many other brain loading tasks.

The first three teams to finish the board game were allotted a certificate to felicitate their position and the remaining finalists received a participation certificate. We had the privilege to call the HOD of the mechanical department, Dr. Shridhar Kurse to honour all the finalists with certificates.
