REPORT on Social Connect and Responsibility

The department of mechanical engineering has successfully conducted the heritage walk for the subject of social connect and responsibility on 06/01/2024. We visited places like Nandi hills and Esha foundation located in Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka.

NandiHills, a picturesque hill station located in the Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka, India, is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, pleasant climate, and historical significance. Our college organized an enriching trip to Nandi Hills, combining it with a visit to the Esha Foundation, an organization dedicated to environmental conservation and community welfare.

Nandi Hills:

Nandi Hills provided an immersive experience in the lap of nature. Surrounded by lush greenery and enveloped in cool breezes, the hills offered a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. The panoramic views from the hilltop were nothing short of mesmerizing, with the sunrise casting a golden hue on the horizon.

Apart from its natural beauty, Nandi Hills boasts a rich historical background. We explored Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace, a testament to the region’s historical significance. The architecture and the scenic location made it an intriguing historical site.

For adventure enthusiasts, Nandi Hills provided an opportunity for trekking. The trekking trails, adorned with diverse flora and fauna, challenged our physical abilities while offering a chance to connect with the natural surroundings.

Esha Foundation:

Our visit to the Esha Foundation was a soul-stirring experience. The foundation is dedicated to various noble causes, including environmental conservation, animal welfare, and community development. The team at Esha Foundation passionately explained their projects, highlighting the positive impact on the local community and the environment. Esha Foundation actively engages in tree plantation drives, waste management, and awareness campaigns. The foundation operates an animal rescue and rehabilitation centre. We witnessed their compassionate care for injured and abandoned animals, emphasizing the importance of coexisting harmoniously with the animal kingdom. Esha Foundation’s community development projects aim to uplift the underprivileged through education, skill development, and healthcare initiatives. It was heartening to see the positive impact on the lives of those supported by the foundation.

Thus, the combination of the natural beauty of Nandi Hills and the philanthropic endeavours of Esha Foundation made our college trip a truly holistic experience. This excursion not only provided a refreshing break but also instilled a sense of responsibility towards the environment and society. As students, we gained valuable insights into the importance of sustainable living and community engagement, making this journey a memorable and impactful chapter in our college life.
