Industrial Visit to Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Rural Energy and Development

The Department of Mechanical Engineering had organized an Industrial Visit to Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Rural Energy and Development for the students .
The tour started with a small celebration of the world Biodiesel day by lighting a solar powered lamp and the Head and the Executive Director of the institute addressed the students. One of the inhouse faculty, Dr.Ashwini explained about MGIRED & its activities. Thereafter Dr. Rajesh explained about various sources for production of Biodiesel. He also explained about the seeds, their availability & also about their cultivation conditions & afterwards they gave a guided tour of the institute and its surroundings, which showcased the renewable methods by which their institute was functioning and how the same methods can be implemented using renewable energy in daily life.
