Industrial Visit to IMTEX Exhibition 2020

IMTMA is the apex body and single point of contact for machine tool industry in India. IMTMA plays a crucial role in the growth and development of metalworking industry in the country. IMTEX FORMING-2020 and TOOL TECH-2020 organized machine tool and allied equipment manufacturers in the country.

Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) is organized its flagship IMTEX FORMING 2020 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) from 23 – 28 January 2020 in Bengaluru. IMTEX FORMING 2020 was a significant exhibition for South East Asia with the presence of leading national and international manufacturing firms from the metal forming sector. Tooltech 2020, a concurrent event of dies & moulds, forming tools, machine tool accessories, metrology and CAD/CAM was held simultaneously.

The students of Mechanical Engineering IV SEM A, B & C Section, New Horizon College of Engineering got an opportunity to visit IMTEX FORMING 2020. IMTMA provided an opportunity for Indian Academic / R&D Institutions to show case their R&D capabilities in Metal working field.

Forming technologies, predominantly sheet metal forming with technologically innovative manufacturing and engineering products and applications was more informative to understand new development for the students.

Department of Mechanical Engineering, New Horizon College of Engineering got an opportunity to display four posters of various projects and product demonstration in IMTEX FORMING 2020.

Students interacted with different exhibitors and discussed with latest technologies in metal Forming. This visit was an awareness programme for imparting knowledge on the machine tool industry for young engineers during IMTEX 2020 at BIEC. Students from mechanical engineering stream helped to gather more knowledge in the manufacturing industry by interacting with industry experts. They learnt how machine tool industry helps in industry growth and the role of an engineer in the manufacturing industry.

The IMTEX exhibition witnessed students that participation manufacturing industry came from 23 countries including India. The exhibitions play an important role in building up the self-confidence of the student community to become entrepreneur and to gain practical knowledge with new technology.
