FDP- "Product Life Cycle Management and 3D Experience: Co-creating Innovative Products and Services
The Faculty Development Programme, titled, “Product Life Cycle Management and 3D Experience: Co-creating Innovative Products and Services,” was organized at the college from March 17th 2025 to March 21st 2025. The event was organized by the Mechanical Engineering and Applied Science Departments, and EDS Technologies, Bangalore.
The workshop aimed to enhance the knowledge of researchers and faculty members in Product Life Cycle Management using the 3D EXPERIENCE platform.
Mr. Vishwa Kadadakatti, Senior Application Engineer at EDS Technologies served as the resource person. The trainers brought expertise, holding over 60 certifications from Dassault Systems in CATIA V5, 3DEXPERIENCE Architecture, Installation Fundamentals, ENOVIA, DELMIA, SIMULIA, and BIOVIA. They also had over 500 hours of training experience with both academic and corporate clients, including Infosys, Ferra Aerospace, Ather Electric, and others.
The five-day program conducted included hands-on training on 3DEXPERIENCE applications such as 3DDashboard, 3DSpace, 3DDrive, and more. Participants gained practical experience with collaboration tools, project management fundamentals and advanced techniques, change management processes, and Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM) management.
The key topics included creating programs, assigning tasks, managing risks and resources, handling engineering change requests, and EBOM integration with MBOM and manufacturing systems. Faculty members from Mechanical Engineering and Applied Science Departments attended and engaged with practical applications presented at the program. With all topics covered as planned, the program empowered attendees with valuable skills and insights, achieving its goals successfully.
