SEMINAR AND WORKSHOP

The Expert Talk on “SAP Signavio – Business Process Management” was conducted on 24th January 2026 for the 8th semester Mechanical Engineering students at New Horizon College of Engineering. The session was organized by the SAP Centre of Excellence in collaboration with the Department of Mechanical Engineering. 

Prof. Rakesh C, Associate Head – Student Affairs, served as the resource person for the event. He introduced students to SAP Signavio, a cloud-based BPM and process transformation platform used to analyze and optimize business processes. The talk emphasized how SAP Signavio enhances process transparency by visualizing real-time business operations. 

Students learned about BPMN 2.0 standards used in modeling activities, decisions, and process flows. Key components such as Process Manager, Journey Modeler, Process Insights, Process Intelligence, and Process Governance were explained. The speaker highlighted the role of SAP Build Process Automation in streamlining enterprise workflows. 

A demonstration of the SAP Signavio Academic Edition helped students understand how to register and access the platform. Tools like Quick Model and the Graphical Editor were showcased for creating BPMN diagrams. Real-world case studies illustrated how SAP Signavio supports ERP and SAP S/4HANA transformation projects. The importance of collaboration, process transparency, and data-driven decision-making was stressed throughout the session. 

Students actively participated in discussions and clarified queries related to process improvement. Career prospects in BPM roles such as Business Analyst, Process Consultant, and Solution Architect were discussed. Overall, the expert talk enhanced students’ awareness of modern BPM tools and their relevance in today’s digital enterprises.
