The Department of CSE organized a Social Outreach Program “Concepts of Computer Science in Everyday Life” at Makkala Dhama, a residential educational development center for girls who lost their parents during the COVID-19 pandemic, located in Bettakote, Devanahalli, Bengaluru.
The program aimed to create awareness about the vital role of computer science in daily life. It introduced students to foundational topics such as algorithms, programming, data structures, and artificial intelligence, showcasing their integration into everyday technology. Through engaging activities, participants explored how computer science drives devices like smartphones, social media, and home appliances. The session also emphasized real-world applications of computer science across healthcare, transportation, and entertainment sectors, offering students valuable insights into the digital world and sparking interest in technology careers.
The program benefited 80 students aged 8 to 14, providing them with a practical understanding of computer science and its impact on modern life.
